Night Curfew & various restrictions implemented in Tamil Nadu

Total lockdown was implemented in Tamil Nadu from 25th March 2020 using the National Disaster Management Act. This total.lock down continued for nearly months un the whole of India and relaxations were made later.

The cases of second wave Covid 19 has increases in various parts of our country. Due to the increase of Covid 19 cases, Maharashtra and few other states have already implemented new restrictions to control further spreading of Covid 19.

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K.Palanisamy told held up a special meeting with the Chief Secretary, Health Secretary, other secretaries, doctors and other health department officials. In the meeting headed by the Chief Minister, few restrictions by strengthening the lockdown has been implemented and a press note mentioning the new restrictions has been released.

Below mentioned are the highlights of Lockdown w.e.f 20th April 2021 till further notice:

1. Night curfew between 10:00 pm to 04:00 am

2. Sundays total lockdown

3. On total lock down days hotel are permitted from 06:00 am to 10:00 am, 12:00 pm to 03:00 pm & 06:00 pm to 09:00 pm to cater only parcels. Online food vendors would be permitted within these hours only.

4. Passengers are banned to travel to Tourist spots on all days.

5. Citizens are banned to visit parks, zoo, archeological department maintained monuments & museum.

6. IT & IT enabled industries to implement minimum of 50% employees to work from home.

7. Essential commodities like LPG, Petrol Bunks, Milk vendors have no restriction to operate their business on all days.

8. Educational institutions to conduct only online classes.

9. Marriages can be conducted only with a maximum of 100 people.

10. 50% occupancy is only allowed in movie theaters.

11. Hotels and Tea shops are permitted only for 50% seating.
