The assembly elections for Tamil Nadu for the year 2021 is scheduled on April 06th of this year. The election battle is led with an alliance led by four different political parties, Naam Tamilar contesting alone and few more parties who are contesting without any alliance partners. The alliance led by the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(AIADMK) is National Democratic Alliance. It has Bharatiya Janatha Party, Pattali Makkal Katchi, Tamil Manila Congress, Perunthalaivar Makkal Katchi, Tamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam, Puratchi Bharatham and Pasumpon Desiya Kazhagam. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(DMK) led alliance is Secular Progressive Alliance and it has Indian National Congress, Communist Party of India Communist Party of India (Marxist), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kaxhagam, Indian Union Muslim League, Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi, Manithaneya Makkal Katchi, All India Forward Bloc, Thamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi, Makkal Viduthalai Katchi and Aadhi Tamizhar Peravai.
Apart from the above two major alliance partners it is actor Kamalhassan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam in an alliance with four other political parties and T.T.V.Dhinakaran’s Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam led alliance has Vijayakanth’s Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam and few other political parties in it. Actor & Director Seeman’s Naam Tamilar Katchi is contesting alone without any alliance partners in the 234 assembly constituencies of Tamil Nadu.
AIADMK, DMK and MNM alliances have few film celebrities’ contesting in the elections and they even have many film celebrities’ canvassing for their party candidates. Kamalhassan, Sripriya, Khusbhu, Udhayanidhi, Snehan can be named as star candidates. S.Ve.Shekar, Suhasini Manirathinam, Gayathri Raghuram, Ajay Rathinam, Vindhya and many more film celebrities’ are canvassing for their respective political parties they are members.
Actress Rohini Molleti is a multifaceted person. She is a Actress, Director & Writer. She is an active person on Social Media. She is a person who is not a member of any political party, but often raises her voice for social causes and for the needs of the society. She is the Vice-President of “Murpokku Ezhuthaalar Sangam”(It means Progressive Writers Association). Though Rohini is not a member of any political party, she is much engaged in the social activities or protests conducted by Communist Party of India and Communist Party of India(Marxist). She always renders her support to them.
In the assembly elections of Tamil Nadu scheduled to happen on April 6th, CPI & CPI(M) are contesting in DMK led Secular Progressive Alliance. CPI & CPI(M) are contesting in 6 assembly seats each. Rohini has gone on an election tour canvassing for the CPI(M) candidates. She had visited Kandharvankottai Constituency and had canvassed for CPI(M) candidate M.Chinnadurai, Kovilpatti for Srinivasan of CPI(M) and Keezhvelur canvassing for CPI(M) candidate Naagai Maali. Apart from this she has gone to Thuruparankundram canvassing for CPI candidate S.K.Ponnuthai.
