The service road below the new flyover being constructed in Anna Nagar West, Chennai at Tirumangalam on GST Road (from Guindy to Padi) is been blocked and being diverted on the other side of the road. While speaking to the Traffic Inspector on duty to know the reason for blocking one side of the road, he said that there were vehicle users who were using the road on wrong side and that was the reason the road has been blocked.
We identified drivers of cars, two-wheelers and autos have been put into hardship while crossing the road below the flyover from East to West. This traffic congestion could lead to major accidents.
We were able to identify one Traffic Inspector, one Traffic Sub-Inspector and two Traffic constables who were on regular duty at the spot where the road is being blocked. It is highly regrettable to say that the Traffic police were concentrating only on levying fines against share autos and other traffic violators and were not able to show their interest in regulating the traffic by opening the blocked road.
Hope the traffic police put their efforts to control and ease the busy congested traffic rather than hiding on a corner of the road to catch the traffic violators.
