The much-anticipated Kumbabhishekam of Sri Sivan SAR Yoga Sabai is set to take place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, in Nanganallur, Tamil Nadu, India. The celebrations leading up to the sacred event are being held with grandeur and devotion, marking a significant moment for the spiritual community.
Speaking to the media in Chennai, Sri Sivaraman, Managing Trustee of G.Siva Saagaram, shared insights about the event. He described Sri Sivan SAR Yoga Sabai as a spiritual temple deeply rooted in Sanatana Dharma, emphasizing its role as a guiding light for spiritual seekers. He stated, “This sacred place will serve as a beacon of divinity and spirituality, inspiring devotees to embrace the principle that ‘Absolute honesty is spirituality.”
Sri Sivaraman highlighted the profound spiritual legacy of Sri Sivan SAR, affectionately known as ‘SAR’ among his countless devotees. Even Kanchi Sri Maha Periyava, a symbol of detachment and wisdom, referred to him as ‘Sachu,’ a term of endearment used by SAR’s family. Sri Maha Periyava once described him as “Sachu, a wise man by birth.”
Sri Sivan SAR was born in Echangudi, a picturesque village on the banks of the Kaveri River, on October 3, 1904 (Pushya star in the Hindu month of Purattasi). He was the fourth son of the pious couple, Brahmashri Subramania Shastri and Madhushri Mahalakshmi Ammaiyar.
An old Tamil manuscript describes Sri Sivan SAR’s divine incarnation as:
“Sudarjyothi Swayam Pratika Anaphiran Arut Peral Ivan Akhilam Vandon,”
meaning, “By the grace of the Almighty God who is everywhere radiant, he came to this world as a shining light.”
At the behest of Sri Mahaperiyava, Sri Sivan SAR authored a profound philosophical work titled “Enipadigalil Mandargal” (Gradations in Human Level). This book, which delves into spiritual truths and world histories, has been widely hailed as a spiritual masterpiece.
The legacy of Sri Sivan SAR transcends borders. His Jayanti and Aradhana are celebrated annually in several parts of India and across the globe, including the United States, Canada, England, and Arab countries. His teachings continue to inspire devotees worldwide, with many reading his works daily as a source of spiritual guidance.
The creation of Sri Sivan SAR Yoga Sabai has been a long-cherished dream for devotees, brought to life through divine blessings. The Kumbabhishekam ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 2, 2025, between 9:20 AM and 10:00 AM at the Nanganallur temple.
The Trustees and Sevarthis of the Siva Saagaram Trust extend a warm invitation to all devotees to participate in this auspicious event, seek blessings, and be part of this significant spiritual milestone.
