Actor S.Ve.Shekar who had earlier been in AIADMK, was elected as Member of Legislative Assembly during the period 2006 – 2011 from Mylapore constituency. Due to difference of opinion with the party General Secretary Ms.Jayalalitha, he started to function independently from 2009. Since S.Ve.Shekar was particular to retain his MLA post, he neither resigned from AIADMK nor joined any other party, but continued as a MLA with an indirect support by the then ruling party DMK.
S.Ve.Shekar as an MLA, was issued with a MLA Car Pass for his Chevrolet car Registration No. TN 07 BM 0005. Since his tenure as a MLA is over, he is not empowered to use his MLA Car Pass. We have noticed that S.Ve.Shekar still continues using his car with the old car pass issued by the Legislative Assembly, Government of Tamil Nadu.
It is unknown whether the government officials and the Police department are unaware about S.Ve.Shekar’s illegal act of misusing the invalid car pass. It is also a question mark whether the officials are acting as silent spectators even after knowing the truth that S.Ve.Shekar is currently not a MLA and and only an Ex.MLA. Few month ago S.Ve.Shakar had joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It is to be noted that S.Ve.Shekar has been recently appointed as a Member of the Central Board of Film Certification by Mr. Narendra Modi led BJP Government. Let us wait and watch whether the police department initiates action to remove the invalid car pass existing in S.Ve.Shekar’s car and proceed with any legal action against S.Ve.Shekar.
