Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Paanisamy inaugurated the statue of late Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha at Lady Wellington School in Marina. After this function, his next next schedule was to unveil ‘Namma Chennai’ a selfie spot for the general public. This ‘Namma Chennai’ selfie spot is about one kilometer from Lady Wellington School.

Tamil Nadu Fisheries Minister D.Jayakumar who participated in the inauguration of Jayalalitha’s Statue had to join in the unveiling of ‘Namma Chennai’ selfie spot by Edappadi Palanisamy.

Unfortunately the car of minister Jayakumar got stuck up in the parking area at Lady Wellington School. Kamarajar Road on Marina was fully empty without any traffic and deployed only with police personnel due to the visit of Chief Minister to Lady Wellington School and ‘Namma Chennai’ selfie spot. Since Jayakumar’s car was not able to be taken out, Jayakumar started to walk on the empty road. Policemen at a little longer distance suddenly noticed a person walking alone in the road and moved toward the person and then identified it as Fisheries Minister Jayakumar.

It is said that policemen and public on the sides of the road who were waiting for the arrival of Chief Minister walked near Jayakumar and asked him why he was walking in the hot sun. He then replied them that his car got stuck in the parking and hence he started to walk. He also added that he loves to walk whenever he gets time and it’s good for health to walk in sunlight and he is doing so. He also adviced others to avoid using vehicles do more walking since it’s a good exercise.
