SC wants strict laws to curb sale of acids to prevent acid attacks:

Supreme Court of India
The Supreme Court today pulled up the Central Government for not being serious in framing stricter laws to curb the sale of acid in the local market in order to prevent the rising cases of acid attack. The apex court, while hearing a petition seeking its direction to the Central Government to frame laws controlling the sale of acid in local market, said many innocent people are dying every day because of the acid attacks but the central government was not worried about it.

The Supreme Court, while cautioning the government that seriousness is expected from the Centre, asked it to come out with stricter laws otherwise the court would pass an order on curbing easy-availability of acid in the market.
