SRUTI is a “First Of It’s Kind Global Online Singing Contest Exclusively For Tamil Film Songs”. SRUTI is an idea conceived by singers and Jury members of the popular music reality show on Zee Tamil, SaReGaMaPa, Vinod Venugopal & Reshmi.
Vinod Venugopal is a Singer, an Entrepreneur and a seasoned musician who has sung supporting vocals for composers like Ilaiyaraaja, M.S.Viswanathan, Vidyasagar and has also performed alongside leading playback singers of Tamil Cinema like Chitra, Sujatha, Karthick, Srinivas, Unni Menon, Shweta to name a few.
Reshmi is an acclaimed playback singer with over 300 songs to her credit. Her hits include Manasukulle Dhaagam Vanello(Autograph) & Unnai Ninaikeve(Jay Jay). She has performed with legends like S.P.Balasubramaniam, Chitra and Sujatha.
The inauguration of SRUTI – Sing, Record, Upload Thirai Isai – Season 2 was inaugurated on 6th November by notable music director Deva, Singer Sujatha Mohan and Abaswaram Ramji in the presence of Vinod Venugopal and Reshmi.
Vinod Venugopal and Reshmi while addressing the media during the inauguration said that SRUTI breaks the shackles of geographical regions, proximity and physical presence by giving a platform to participate in a singing contest from the comforts of one’s home. They added that the goal of SRUTI is to become the largest community of Tamil music singers in the world who produce authentic, yet groundbreaking performances.
Vinod Venugopal and Reshmi say that SRUTI shall connect aspiring singers to the magic world of ‘Tamil Movie Musicdom.’ They also added that SRUTI is to create a niche space for music aspirants to use this forum as a launch pad for the constant Talent hunt that goes on in the Kollywood industry.
The whole competition runs online. The contestants use the official website of SRUTI www.singinsruti.com to register & submit their entries. The entire competition is spread over 60 days, 2 age categories, 5 rounds & in 7 genres.

SRUTI Season 1 was launched with the blessings of Ghatam Vidwan Padma Bhushan Sri. Vikku Vinayakram & Playback Singer Sujatha.
Season 1 had 4 age categories and was launched on 1st August 2018 & the finals was on 2nd October 2018. The finalists of Season 1 went on to appear on popular Music Reality Shows like Zee Tamil, SaReGaMaPa & Vijay TV Super Singer.
SRUTI Season 2 was launched on 6th November 2019 & the finals would to be held on 19th January 2020.
SRUTI Season 2 will be in 2 Age Categories i.e., Juniors (upto 15yrs) & Seniors (above 15yrs).
