Yuvan Shankar Raja has completed 25 years of journey as a music director in this movie industry. His songs have been the best friend to every individual as a source of enlivenment during their loneliness, pain, emotional outbursts, excitements, and consolation. Marking this occasion of celebrating the completion of 25 years in the industry, Yuvan Shankar Raja met and interacted with the Press and Media fraternity.
This happy occasion got embellished with the presence of playback singers Senthildas Velayudham (The singer of ‘Aandipatti’ song from Vijay Sethupathi’s Dharmadurai), Sam P Keerthan, Velu, Sujatha Venkat Raman, Lega (a) Lega Sri, and Athira, who crooned beautiful compositions of Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Later Yuvan Shankar Raja interacted with press and media saying, “First and foremost, I would like to thank each and everyone from the media and press fraternity for being such great support in nurturing my career. I am so happy that your support will be a perpetual one forever. I take this opportunity to thank the directors, producers, and music artists with whom I have been associated during these years. Brahma has always been my accomplice, but I am sad as he is not with me here now. It is because of the pillar-like support from the press and media; I am able to retain my presence in the industry. I am blessed to have such a wonderful team comprising Ramji, Kaushik, Guru, and others. The place that I have created for Na. Muthukumar is something phenomenal, and it cannot be replaced by anyone forever. He is such an outstanding lyricist. I have associated with him on many projects, and all those memories are unforgettable. I am now working with Vivek, Pa. Vijay, and many lyricists whom I would like to thank for being my great support. I am really surprised to see that 25 years of my journey has passed like a swift of time. When I embarked on my journey as a music director, there were no social media. I had no clue whether the song is a hit. I would know about it only when someone appreciates or talk about it. I got to know that I have become successful while going out with my mom, and someone from the public addressed her saying, “Look! She is Yuvan Shankar Raja’s mother.” This was the moment when I realized that people have accepted me as a music director. I am missing my mother a lot. Even today, I couldn’t stop thinking of her. I am happy that God has gifted me with a loveable daughter, who is showering me with motherly love. I thank the Almighty for that. I desperately wanted to work with Lata Mangeshkar madam, but I am sad that it didn’t happen. I spend more time listening to my father’s compositions. Jagadish, who is with Vijay sir had sent me a picture of Vijay’s son wearing the T-shirt labeled Yuvanism. Later, when I met Vijay sir, he revealed that his son is his great fan. I was really happy to hear about it. The T-shirt that I wore with the slogan regarding the Hindi language was absolutely true. It’s a fact that I don’t know Hindi. I am not such an active person in cyberspace, and it’s my wife, who always brings the appreciation from fans and others to my notice. I really feel gleeful looking into them. I love and remain happy when I am with my family more than working in movies. 25 years have passed like a small fraction, and I know that there’s a long journey ahead to travel. Losing my mother made me seek God. Every time, when I complete composing music, I would doubt if it was me, who is doing all this, but then, as my search kept deepening, I realized it was God behind all these acts. I have written a screenplay for a movie produced by me. I have developed a desire to direct it next year. I am looking forward to creating more independent albums and experimenting with something new. I feel that my journey will be successful in the future as well.”
