“Lingaa” Singaravelan praises Superstar, blames Kalaipuli Thanu and Tiruppur Subramaniyam:

Lingaa Singaravelan Press Meet
Everyone would be very well aware about the dispute that was going on from the second day of the release of the film “Lingaa” till the end of March 2015. After the interference of Superstar Rajnikanth in the producers and distributors controversy regarding the movie “Lingaa”, Rajnikanth had offered to make a settlement of Rs.12.5 crores towards Rs.33.5 crores claimed as loss by the distributors of the movie “Lingaa”. Rajnikanth’s offer was accepted by the distributors and the the issue came to and end. But within the next two months “Lingaa” issue has started to burst once again.

Today few distributors and exhibitors of the movie “Lingaa” addressed the media in Chennai. Now distributor Tiruppur Subramaniyam and Kalaipuli Dhanu are being cornered. Singaravelan says that Rajnikanth has paid Rs.12.5 crores to Dhanu and Tiruppur Subramaniyam to be settled to the loss affected distributors. Singaravelan accuses Tiruppur Subramaniyam as dodging and reasons that only Rs.5.9 crores has been settled and balance amount of Rs.6.61 crores is pending to be paid to the loss affected distributors.

Singaravelan said that Kalaipuli S.Thanu who had addressed the media in the month of March 2015 had said that Rajnikanth had accepted to pay a big amount to compensate the loss of the distributors and exhibitors for the movie “Lingaa”. Singaravelan adds that distributor Tiruppur Subramaniyam had involved himself as a mediator between the distributors and exhibitors of “Lingaa” movie and Rajnikanth to resolve the ongoing dispute and they believed him for an amicable solution. Later after speaking to Thanu, Singaravelan had contacted Tiruppur Subramaniyam to enquire him when the amount would be paid to the loss affected distributors. Singaravelan says that Tiruppur Subramaniyam had conveyed him that the amount is lying with one Mr.Madurai Anbuchezhiyan and would be paid to the loss affected distributors and exhibitors within few days.

It seems that the money was not paid to the distributors and exhibitors within the said time. Singaravelan says that he had once again contacted Tiruppur Subramaniyam to know when the money would be paid to them. He adds that the reply from Tiruppur Subramaniyam was shocking where he had said that the money has not been received at their end from Rajnikanth or the producers. Singaravelan played both the telephonic conversations between Singaravelan and Tiruppur Subramaniyam to the media persons. The audio clearly explains the two different type of replies given by Tiruppur Subramaniyam to Singaravelan in regard to the “Lingaa” money payment issue.

At last while concluding the press meet, Singaravelan said that they had misjudged Superstar Rajnikanth and producer Rockline Venkatesh. But it is they who had done justice by paying the money of Rs.12.5 crores to Thanu and Tiruppur Subramaniyam, says Singaravelan. He added that now they have received only Rs.5.9 crores and balance of Rs.6.61 is not been paid yet. Tiruppur Subramaniyam is dodging and Thanu is not responding to their requests. Finally he requested Rajnikanth to involve in this issue and make sure that the amount given by him is paid to them in full. He along with distributors Ruban of Tirunelveli & Kanyakumari and other exhibitors warned that police complaint would be filed against those who had swindled the money given by Rajnikanth payable to the loss affected distributors of “Lingaa”.

Lets wait and watch the next course of action by Singaravelan, Thanu, Tiruppur Subramaniyam and others.
