On 30th June 2013, a balcony of a house in Teynampet, Chennai collapsed and Mrs. Bhuvaneswari, W/o Mr. Jagadeesan suffered with severe injuries and died at the accident spot.
On 27th June 2013, Mr.Paramasivam working with the Tamilnadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited was on duty working on top an Electric pillar. Accidentally Mr.Paramasivam fell down from the electric pillar and lost his life at the place of accident.
On 29th June 2013, a student Ms.Kalaiselvi, D/o. Mr.Selvaraj met with an electric shock in her school at Tiruvanamalai District and lost her life.
On 23rd June 2013, Rajini from Avadi, Chennai and Meganathan from Cuddalore district were moving on a bicycle. In an accident, a state government bus hit their bicycle and both died on the accident spot.
Chief Minister Ms. Jayalalitha has expressed her deep condolences to the members of the bereaved families who had lost their lives in various accidents. Ms.Jayalalitha has ordered for solatium from Chief Ministers Public Relief Fund to the families of the persons who have lost their lives in the various accidents.
