Chennai based Kancheepuram silk saree specialist Sri Palam Silk Sarees on October 23rd 2013, unveiled a new line of concept sarees for the upcoming Diwali season at their store in Jayanagar’s 5th block by Actress Sakshi Agarwal. The concept saree pioneers announced four new collections – the Duo Tone silks, the Neon Silks, the Red Carpet Collections and the second coming of the UltraLites launched last year. It is a visual treat and a great way to look at the new collections of concept sarees unveiled in the fashion show by Actress sakshi Agarwal and top notch models from Bangalore.
Speaking on the occasion, Palam Silks proprietor Ms. Jeyasree Ravi said, “Palam has always been a pioneer for innovative concepts in sarees. This year, we present collections which further strengthen our commitment to making sarees attractive to women of all ages”.
The new collections are the brainchild of Ms. Sunita Palam, daughter of Ms. Jeyasree Ravi who recently joined the business as its creative spearhead. “The Duo Tone Silk is unique in that it has two completely different borders at two ends, providing a brilliant, trendy look while retaining the splendor of silk. Neon colours are a rage all over the world and thus doing it in sarees was a natural choice. I am confident that the Neon Silk collection will appeal to almost everyone”, explained Sunita while unveiling the collections.
Sunita’s introduction in the business has also added new vigour to the collections at Palam that hitherto was dominated by pure zari pure silk sarees from Kancheepuram and around. “The Red Carpet Collections are unique designs created by fusing the best of two radically different fabrics. These sarees will be limited in number and rarely repeated”, she added.
This is also the first time that Palam Silks is choosing to unveil their concept collections first in Bangalore than in Chennai. “We realized that people of Bangalore love sarees. However, they still travel far and wide to places like Kancheepuram to buy the best sarees at the best rates. We are easing that burden by bringing the latest trends to their city, but while maintaining price levels which they are used to at those markets” clarified Jeyasree.
