There had been an ongoing issue between the Tamil Film Exhibitors Association and Tamil Film Producers. Recently Tamil Film Exhibitors Association(Rohini Pannerselvam) had issued Red card (Unofficial) notice the Exhibitors to boycott release of Vishal starring “Paayum Puli” produced by Vendhar movies. It is said that the exhibitors have been demanding settlement for their loss incurred in the release of “Lingaa” in which Vendhar Movies had acted as distributor for the movie “Lingaa” for Tamilnadu.

With regard to it, The Tamil Film Producers Council(TFPC) headed by Kalaipulu S.Thanu addressed the media and accused Rohini Pannerselvam that he had been continuously threatening producers demanding huge money for releasing movies.  Thanu also added that the same incident happened during the release of the movie Uttama Villain and few other movies releases.  Thanu claimed that they have authenticated video evidence of Rohini Pannerselvam threatening Madhan of Vendhar Movies, demanding with huge amount to give a green signal for releasing their movie “Paayum Puli”.

Thanu said that the TFPC has decided to go on a strike by not releasing any new movies from 4th September and also withdraw movies currently running in theatres with effect from 11th September.  He added that this strike would continue till Pannerselvam changes from his behaviours of threatening the film producers.

Thanu finally concluded saying that office bearers of TFPC along with Vendhar Movies Madhan would be filing a criminal complaint against Rohini Pannerselvam with The Commissioner of Police, Chennai.
