Ayyappan a film distributor from Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari (TK) districts is said to have tied up with Ruban, distributor of Lingaa movie for TK area. Ayyappan had played the role of a Mediator between Ruban and the exhibitors of TK to confirm theaters for exhibiting the movie Lingaa. For the past few weeks there had been issues of dispute between Rockline Venkatesh, producer of Lingaa and the distributors of Lingaa. Rumors speculate that distributors Singaravelan and Ruban have received compensation from Rockline Venkatesh stating the reason of loss in distributing the movie Lingaa.
Sources close to Ayyappan say that Ruban after taking money from Rockline Venkatesh has not paid the amount to Ayyappan repayable to the exhibitors of TK district. Sources say that Ayyappan after coming to know about these activities, suspected that he is been cheated by Ruban and had attempted suicide by consuming poison. Ayyappan had been admitted immediately this morning at Soorya Hospital.
T. Siva, Honorary Secretary of Tamil Film Producers Council and director of Vendhar Movies who had distributed Lingaa visited the hospital in few hours and met Ayyappan. Few distributor and Exhibitors were also present in the hospital to see Ayyappan. It is said that the condition of Ayyappan has developed and is out of danger.
