In Chhattisgarh, Security forces gunned down six naxalites in an encounter at a village in Gadchoroli, close to inter-state border with Maharashtra.
The encounter took place near Mendri village when a team of security personnel were on a search mission.

Police sources say that six bodies have been recovered from the encounter spot and have seized a carbine, a 303 rifle, three 12 bore guns and 13 hand grenades.
An alert has been sounded in the region where combing operations were also being carried out.
