It is a known fact that many actors and actress have been literally scolded and even beaten during a scene shot, where the quality expected by the director is not achieved. Many artistes understand that the harshness of the director is only because of the perfection he needs. Only few artistes have made remarks about the director for his harshness.
There are talks in the Tamil film industry and the public that eminent veteran directors like Barathiraja, Balumahendra, Balachander, Mahendran and few others have in few incidents slapped efficient actors like Rajnikanth, Kamalhassan, Sridevi and many others to extract perfection in their work. Those artistes never took those slaps in the wrong manner and considered the directors as their guru. Neither the directors nor the artistes took the slapping incidents as an issue.
Director Bala who had earlier received National awards and directed the critically acclaimed films like Sethu, Nanda, Pithamagan, Naan Kadavul and Avan Ivan has currently completed his latest project “Paradesi” starring Adharva Murali, Dhansika, Vedika, Director Jerry and others and the same is being planned to be released worldwide on 15th of this month.
In the meantime director Bala had daringly released, a “Realitic Teaser” on YouTube, websites and other visual Medias. The Realitic Teaser portrays Bala on action in the shooting spot. The video explains how Bala had taught, explained and trained the artistes to achieve a perfect output from those artistes. In few scenes of the “Realitic Teaser” Bala portrays as hitting and kicking the artistes with full force.
Till date none of the artistes who had acted in Bala’s film have neither complained nor made statements that they had received blows or slaps from Bala. Though the “Realitic Teaser” portrays the efforts taken by the director and the artistes, few from the film industry have directly and indirectly criticized Bala on Twitter and Facebook assuming that Bala had purposely hit and kicked the artistes. The video clearly explains that Bala has been teaching the artistes on how to perform the scene.
Let us wait till March 15th to watch the film “Paradesi” and publish our review on the film especially mentioning whether Bala’s efforts portrayed on “Realitic Teaser” was necessary.
